We are among the best employers in Germany
The best employers of the year have been determined. A total of 96 companies were awarded the TOP JOB Seal 2020 in Berlin on 28 February 2020.
Fischer Information Technology AG was able to receive the trophy from the hands of former Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel at the current award ceremony. Gabriel is patron of TOP JOB. With the seal, the most attractive employers in the German middle class are honoured annually. The award, which is presented by the Centre for Employer Attractiveness, zeag GmbH, is given to companies that consistently promote a healthy and at the same time high-performance workplace culture.
Combining the innovative spirit of a start-up with the values of a german medium-sized company is the mission of the software manufacturer Fischer Information Technology. This special constellation is obviously appreciated by the approximately 70 employees: Within the scope of the scientifically accompanied survey by TOP JOB, they gave their company such positive feedback that Fischer Information Technology was awarded as an excellent employer.
The software company from Radolfzell on Lake Constance produces business software for digitization, which combines all relevant data of a company in a single application. The most varied product information can thus be used digitally and linked in such a way that it can be permanently accessed via mobile devices, for example, using an app.
"For us, participation in TOP JOB was an ideal opportunity to measure ourselves against employers from all over the country," reports CEO Carl Pfeffer. "We are very pleased with the excellent result, we will analyze the findings from the survey and implement them in company-wide projects. We take this award as a motivation to further improve ourselves and in particular to optimize the quality of our services on this basis".
What makes Fischer an excellent employer?
It is the mix of flat hierarchies, the individual development opportunities for employees and the pleasant working atmosphere: The office doors of company founder Dr. Walter Fischer and CEO Carl Pfeffer are open to employees for informal discussions. Work is done in so-called Co-Work-Spaces, tasks are solved together in projects. "The composition of the project teams changes - with us, everyone can find out and strengthen their personal strengths," says Pfeffer. Extensive further training measures support the software engineers in their career development.
Flexibility in working hours, home office and parental leave - also for managers - are a matter of course at Fischer. The employees find work-life balance on the one hand through the proximity to Lake Constance and the Alps; in addition, there are amenities such as employee events and a very good lunch service. "As an agile, employee-oriented medium-sized company, we are absolutely competitive in comparison with offers in the Stuttgart and Munich conurbations," summarizes Carl Pfeffer.
For the current "TOP JOB" round, 29,530 employees and personnel managers were surveyed, of which around 64 percent work in family-owned companies. The award-winning employers include 28 national and 9 global market leaders. The proportion of women in management positions averages 25%.
The "TOP JOB" company comparison
With TOP JOB, medium-sized companies work on their qualities as employers. The seal makes their attractiveness visible for applicants. The basis for the award is an extensive employee survey. It is organised by zeag GmbH, Centre for Employer Attractiveness, based in Constance on Lake Constance. The scientific management of the benchmarking is in the hands of Prof. Dr. Heike Bruch and her team from the Institute for Leadership and Human Resource Management at the University of St. Gallen. Patron of the project is Sigmar Gabriel.
