Fischer is a founding member of the iiRDS Consortium. This consortium has taken over from tekom Working Group Information 4.0. Fischer contributes its expert knowledge and decades of experience in the areas of intelligent information, standardized metadata models and delivery of information for portals and applications. The consortium is responsible for enhancing the iiRDS standard, intelligent information request and delivery standard.
In the age of digitalization, classical instruction manuals for technical information have become obsolete. State-of-the-art technical documentation must be able to deliver intelligent information. Intelligent information must provide the right data over the product's entire life cycle, for each phase and for specific purposes. It must be able to adapt to the user's situation and fit the machine or device and the user's specific configuration exactly. Intelligent information must be able to communicate with other information.
iiRDS is a standard for exchanging this information. iiRDS stands for Intelligent Information Request and Delivery Standard. This is not about generating or using technical documentation, but requesting and delivering it in the form of intelligent information. The standardization of metadata plays an important role when it comes to exchanging and using content between systems of different manufacturers.
To sum up, iiRDS will become part of Industry 4.0. It makes it possible to exchange information from different manufacturers between different systems and to merge this information to create a single documentation.
